BIOGRAPHY
I was born in New York, and was raised in a house full of music. As the youngest of six children, born in the 1960s, I was introduced to the wide range of music from my parents and older siblings at an early age — a range that went from the old standards to folk and rock classics from the 60s and 70s.

I participated in various choirs and musical theater during my school years, and have always loved music.

After high school, I began working as a Graphic Designer, and briefly studied at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. I honed my cartooning and illustration chops while working at Archie Comics Publishing, in Mamaroneck, NY. All the while, teaching myself how to play guitar.

I moved to Pittsburgh and worked in the non-profit corporate world, eventually winding up as an Art Director at the University of Pittsburgh.

I started an open mic night at a fun little bar (Geno's) in Lawrenceville in 2006 and it was great meeting so many brilliant local musicians. A few years later, I took the reins of an open mic at The Gateway Inn in Gibsonia. I then took over the hosting duties at the Starlite Lounge in Blawnox, where I met and jammed with so many amazing local musicians. It was at these open mics that I really got the experience and confidence to play out.

For the last 15 years in Pittsburgh, I was the president of a community theater group which produced comedies, dramas and a few musicals. I even appeared with the Pittsburgh Opera in several shows as a featured supernumerary! In addition, I was the stage director and set designer for our local high school musicals for eight wonderful years.

My wife, Beth, and I have two adult children and have been visiting Amelia Island regularly since the 1980s, and finally moved here permanently in 2019.

I work full time as a freelance illustrator and a musician who can be seen at venues on Amelia Island performing my Acoustic Flashback show.

My new theater home is the Amelia Musical Playhouse, where I volunteer my time to perform, direct, and create all of the promotional artwork and show programs.
